The Kognia platform has recently undergone a host of updates to further support clubs in their analysis, particularly within the academy space and across player development.
This Kognia article provides further insight and information into these recent changes, where the main areas of focus have been:
Player match reports are now directly accessible within the platform in the game by game section.
German language access: Kognia platform now live in German.
Introduction of P90 to feature alongside percentiles in the player profile section.
2D pitch maps feature alongside the video player.
Player match reports accessible within the platform
These reports give analysts, coaches, agencies and wider club staff a clear view of the tactical behaviours that underpin a player’s performance at a game-by-game level.
They break the game into the actions that shape a team’s game model: support movements in each third, line‑breaking tendencies, defensive coverage patterns, pressing intensity, and how often a player’s decisions help the team progress or stabilise possession. Every micro‑action is contextualised (by phase, by location, by half) so analysts and coaches can see not just what happened, but how it fits into the team’s tactical intentions.
What makes these reports powerful is the way they turn complex match dynamics into actionable insight. Coaches can quickly identify whether players are offering the right types of support, defending key spaces with consistency, or contributing effectively to build‑up and defensive organisation. The comparison against competition ranges adds another layer, highlighting where behaviours align with elite benchmarks and where adjustments may be needed. For clubs looking to strengthen tactical alignment, accelerate development, or refine individual roles, this level of detail becomes a genuine competitive advantage.

From the Kognia app itself, it is very easy to directly download the advanced match report for the selected player (in this case, Lucas Torró from CA Osasuna). The report is broken down into sections corresponding to the different phases of the game. On the first page, you can see at a glance a general radar chart and vertical bar diagrams describing the player's performance evolution in the competition. This first page describes four relevant behaviours: finishing, organization, defensive and physical.

During the development of the report itself, two-dimensional graphs and vertical bar charts help illustrate where and how the player is performing in specific variables in different aspects of the game, as can be seen in the two attached pages of Lucas Torró’s report on the CA Osasuna vs RCD Mallorca match.

Kognia platform now available in German
Kognia has recently introduced German as an available language within the application (in addition to the tool already being available in Spanish and English).
The image below shows a comparison in German between Jonathan Tah, Nico Schlotterbeck and Antonio Rüdiger with some of Kognia's most distinctive defensive variables.

P90 and percentiles toggle available within player profile section
Kognia no longer only provides its original percentile values, but has also included the common p90 functionality in this specific section in order to visualise the data and information on each player's performance adjusted for playing time. Whilst percentiles are valuable for ranking purposes, the addition of a p90 functionality also allows for more specific information to be extracted from each match according to the minutes played by each player.

2D pitch map features alongside video player
Within Kognia video with our automatic overlays, you can view what is happening in the match from a different perspective using 2D maps. On these mini football pitches, you can see the tracked players detected by the camera on each team, as well as the option to hover your mouse cursor over each player to see their name. This new feature from Kognia can help analysts analyse better, faster, and in a more holistic and integrated way.
